Cap Corse tours & boat trips

Boat days, 4x4 beach runs, wine tastings and Bastia walks — what is really bookable, and who each one suits.

Cap Corse is a place you mostly explore under your own steam: you drive the D80, stop where you like and walk down to the sea. Organised tours play a supporting role — but a very useful one, because the best of this coast is hard or impossible to reach by hire car.

We will be honest about coverage. GetYourGuide lists very few activities that start on the cape itself. Almost everything bookable leaves from one of the two gateway towns: Bastia, at the foot of the east coast, and Saint-Florent, at the foot of the west. Since both are on the loop, that is rarely a problem — you simply plan a boat or beach day at the start or end of your drive.

The trips worth your money fall into four groups: boats that show you the cliffs, towers and coves from the sea; 4x4 excursions to the beaches of Saleccia and Lotu, where normal cars cannot go; wine tastings in Patrimonio; and guided walks in Bastia. Every product below is a live GetYourGuide listing, with free cancellation on most. For our ranked opinion, see the best Cap Corse tours.

Choose by what you want to do

See the coast by boat

From Saint-Florent, cruises combine the cliffs of the cape with the white beaches of the Agriates; from Bastia’s Vieux Port, sailing and motor-boat trips follow the towers of the east coast. Morning departures usually have the calmest sea.

Paddleboards and snorkelling equipment are carried on board and lunch is part of the day. Rated 4.7 by more than 200 guests, it is the most-booked Cap Corse experience on GetYourGuide.

Cap Corse tours: FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Are there guided bus tours around Cap Corse?

Local coach excursions round the cape exist in summer and are sold by agencies and tourist offices in Bastia and Saint-Florent, but at the time of writing none is listed on GetYourGuide. The bookable alternatives are a private driver from Bastia, or boat trips that show the coast from the sea.

Which boat trip is best for Cap Corse?

From Saint-Florent, the six-hour cruise that combines the west coast below Nonza with Saleccia and Lotu shows the most. From Bastia, the four-hour sailing trip covers the east coast and its Genoese towers. See the ranking.

Can I drive to Saleccia beach myself?

Not in a normal car. The 12 km track from Casta is rough and hire contracts generally exclude it. Take the shuttle boat to Lotu and walk, or book a 4x4 excursion.

Do boat trips run all year?

No. Most operate from roughly April or May to October, with the fullest programme from June to September, and all depend on the wind. Book a flexible, free-cancellation option and keep a spare day.

Should I book in advance?

In July and August, yes — small boats and 4x4s fill several days ahead. In May, June and September a day or two is usually enough.

Are these tours suitable for children?

The short Bastia–Erbalunga boat trip and the half-day cruise from Saint-Florent are the easiest for families. Check each listing for minimum ages, especially for 4x4, kayak, e-bike and paragliding.
